How is Cloud VPS different from Cloud Servers?+
Same hardware. Cloud VPS is the raw box with root SSH; you install and manage what you want. Cloud Servers wraps it in KPanel with one-click app installs, managed updates, firewall, daily backups. VPS from $25/mo, Cloud Servers from $35/mo with management included.
Can I install any Linux distro?+
Yes. We support Ubuntu 22.04 / 24.04, Debian 12, Rocky Linux 9, AlmaLinux 9, Fedora 40 as official images. Custom ISO upload is supported on Atlas and up. We do not lock the kernel; build your own if you need to.
Do I get a real IPv4 or just IPv6?+
Real IPv4 + IPv6 dual-stack on every tier. Additional IPv4 addresses available for $4/mo each. Reverse DNS is configurable from the panel or API.
What about backups?+
Snapshots are included. Automated daily backups are an add-on for $3/mo per VPS (cheaper if you bring your own backup script and pipe to your own S3-compatible store). Snapshots cover the disk; backups cover the disk and live state.
Can I resize a VPS without rebuilding it?+
Yes. Vertical scale (up or down a tier) takes a brief reboot. Horizontal scale is on you; we give you the boxes and the API, you wire up the load balancing.
Where are servers physically located?+
Global enterprise infrastructure with NZ-facing edge nodes in Auckland and Sydney keeping NZ TTFB sub-150ms. NZ-located VPS hosts scheduled for Q3 2026.
