Why we exist

Hosting is broken.
Were trying to fix it.

A short manifesto on what we think is wrong with most hosting companies, and what were doing about it.

The introductory pricing trap

Almost every major host advertises a price thats only valid for the first billing cycle. NZ$2.99 a month becomes NZ$13.99 at renewal. Sometimes the renewal price is buried in a tooltip. Sometimes its only revealed in the third invoice. Either way, the customer feels tricked.

Kapsule Cloud charges one price. The price you sign up at is the price you renew at. We have a six month free trial because we think six months is enough time to know if we are a fit, not because we plan to triple the price afterwards.

Free essentials that arent free

Free SSL has been a commodity since 2016, but some hosts still sell it as a 60 dollar a year add-on. Daily backups are table stakes in 2026, but many hosts charge 24 dollars a year for them. Some hosts charge for site migration. Some charge to recover your own data if you cancel.

We include SSL, backups, migration and data export for free. They are basics. Hosting that charges for basics is hosting that wants to nickel and dime its customers.

Support that isnt support

Many hosts route their support through overseas call centres with rotating scripted staff. Some have replaced support with chatbots. Some pretend to have NZ support but use generic American chat agents.

Our support is run from Christchurch by people on our payroll. Email, chat, and phone. NZ business hours. If you ring, a real person answers. Were small on purpose, so the person who picks up actually knows the product.

Panels designed for 2009

cPanel turned 28 this year. It looks and works like a Windows 98 control panel. Most NZ hosts still use it. Plesk is similar. Both were built when smartphones didnt exist.

We built KPanel from scratch in 2026. Mobile-first, fast, designed for the way people actually work today. Deploy a site, restore a backup, check DNS, all from your phone in the queue at New World.

What we are not

Were not the cheapest. Hostinger will always beat us on price. Were not the biggest. Hosting.com has 3 million customers and we have a handful. Were not for everyone. If you want hosting for 99 cents a month, we cant help you.

Were for NZ businesses who want hosting that respects them. Honest pricing. Real support. Modern tools. Operated locally. If that sounds like you, give us six months free and see.

See if were right for your business.

Six months free. Cancel anytime. No surprises.
