Kapsule Cloud is a New Zealand-registered business with infrastructure hosted in Hetzner's Frankfurt, Germany datacenter. Your data is governed by New Zealand law, operated by a New Zealand team, with NZ-based support during business hours.
Why Frankfurt, not NZ?
Honest answer: price stability.
New Zealand datacenter pricing makes our price-lock model uneconomical. We charge NZ$5/month and guarantee that price forever. To honour that guarantee long-term, we need infrastructure costs we can actually predict, and NZ datacenters can't match Hetzner's Frankfurt pricing on enterprise hardware.
We chose Frankfurt because Hetzner operates one of Europe's most reliable datacenter facilities: ISO 27001 certified, renewable energy commitments, redundant power and connectivity, and the same hardware stack (NVMe SSDs, AMD EPYC CPUs, ECC RAM) used by companies ten times our size.
All legal protections remain NZ-governed. We are a New Zealand company, accountable to NZ regulators, subject to the Privacy Act 2020. Frankfurt is where the servers live, Christchurch is where the business operates and where your support comes from.
NZ-located origin servers
We have NZ-located infrastructure on our roadmap for Q3 2026. When NZ pricing reaches parity with our cost model, customers will be migrated at no charge. All data stays in NZ from that point forward. We will publish an update when this changes.

Cloudflare
CDN, DNS, WAF, and R2 backups
300+ edge cities including Auckland and Sydney for sub-100ms NZ response times. All backups encrypted at rest in R2.
Stripe
Payment processing
PCI DSS Level 1 certified. No card data stored on Kapsule infrastructure. Stripe handles all payment processing.
Anthropic
AI support via Kora
Claude powers Kora, our 24/7 AI support assistant. Conversations are not used to train Anthropic models under our API agreement.
